Stitching Stories
I’ve always believed that what we make with our hands carries more than just beauty—it carries memory.
For me, needlework has never been just a hobby. It’s a way to connect with the past, to honor the women who came before me, and to leave something meaningful behind. Every tool I use, every piece I finish, every imperfect little knot—it all tells a story. My story. Their story. Our story.
That’s why I created Branches & Stitches—to bring together the threads of family and fiber in a way that honors both. Here, I share the tools I use, the projects I work on, and the stories I uncover along the way—through genealogy, through crochet, and through the quiet magic that happens when the two meet.
This blog will hold a little bit of everything: reflections, resources, tips, and maybe even a few hard-earned lessons from unraveling both yarn and family records. It’s my way of preserving not just the things I make, but the meaning behind them.
If you’ve ever looked at a handmade piece and thought of someone you loved… or traced your family tree and felt the pull of something deeper… then you already understand why I stitch stories.
Thanks for being here. The needle is threaded, the journal is open—and the story is just beginning.
